TASTING NOTES
Colour: Pale green
Aroma: Typical aromatic Sauvignon aromas. Zingy, fresh and pure with hints of lime and grapefruit.
Palate: Fresh and vibrant with tremendous initial lift of limes and melon fruits with a long and persistent finish. Some soft body in the middle palate perfectly balances the tight and racy Semillon that runs through the wine. Overall a finely honed and fresh fruited style for which Margaret River is justly famous.
Food matching: Rottnest crayfish on the back of a boat in Geordie Bay.
Cellaring: Enjoy now
Alcohol: 12.5 % vol Standard drinks: approx 7
TECHNICAL NOTES
Region: Margaret River
Vintage notes: The 2010 vintage in Margaret River was relatively free of weather issues fine and very warm – a real Indian summer. In general the temperate climatic conditions provided for consistent and even ripening, this resulted in the accumulation of good sugars and accompanying flavours.
A remarkable period of fine warm weather during early March and most of April saw all areas bring fruit to maturity resulting in finely balanced and flavour packed wines.
Composition: Sauvignon Blanc 73%; Semillon 27%.
Winemaking: Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes were crushed separately in cool conditions and the juices cold pressed to retain natural fresh flavours and aromas. After fermentation with natural yeasts the wines were clarified and held cold to retain freshness until blending and early bottling.
